Rowan is a Therapy Assistant at Knights of the Shed. They have been working with students and young people for the last four years and have a background in science communication. They have presented interactive scientific presentations at schools across Tasmania. They enjoy helping young people find their confidence and supporting people to grow.
Rowan has a love of stories and finds that the greatest way to share their love of science is through storytelling; creating experiences people can interact with and relate to. They started playing tabletop role playing games when they became impatient waiting for a game to come to them and grabbed a bunch of friends to begin building a shared world together. They found the collaborative work of creating a shared story and world with others extremely rewarding, and this drew them to Knights of the Shed, and its use of TTRPG’s in a therapeutic setting.
Outside of work, Rowan can be found reading a good book, tinkering away at any number of small projects, or riding off into the sunset on their motorbike with a few friends.
